|2014 GTB champion David Walley will return to the GT Cup for a one-off appearance at Donington Park next weekend.
The Stratford-upon-Avon based driver will return with In2Racing but will be stepping up into the GTC group in a 991 GT3 Cup car. David will continue to be backed by recruitment experts Alexander Daniels, whose logos prominently featured on the car during his successful 2014 campaign.
The Donington Park races, taking place on the 19th & 20th September, mark his first appearance of the 2015 season after a heavy crash in February severely limited his 2015 racing ambitions.
“I am very excited to be returning to the GT Cup”, said David. “Last season was an amazing time and securing the GTB Championship at the last race was certainly a highlight of my racing career to date. Fittingly, Donington was the venue for my first race in the GT Cup in April last year and it is a favourite of mine.”
“Moving up to the GTC class in the Porsche 991 will be a challenge but the Team at In2Racing have a great pedigree and huge experience with the car now so I am hoping to be on the pace from the start.”
“I can’t wait to get back on track and meet up with some of my old friends from last season, the paddock atmosphere and the organisation of the GT Cup is one of the main reasons for me returning to this particular championship. Having also finished second in the overall Championship it will be an honour to have the No.2 on the car for this race!”
